Is it just me who finds being a stepparent absolutely exhausting?

It feels like nothing is ever good enough. One mistake, one badly phrased sentence or simply saying no, and I’m the evil stepmonster again.

I love my kiddo, but I don’t know whether I’m cut out for this. I also don’t want to leave my boyfriend of nearly eight years.
