Is it just me?

I used to be surrounded by people. I was cheer captain in high school, social chair in college, and later worked at a young start-up where making friends felt easy.
Now I've moved, and building new female friendships feels so much harder.I'm a self-proclaimed extroverted introvert. I love my alone time and recharge by myself, but I still really crave fun, genuine social connection.

Is it just me, or does anyone else still crave the close friendships of their teenage years, even though everyone’s lives seem to revolve around work and family?
I have friends, but sometimes it feels like I'm never really anyone's priority. I miss friendships that aren't only about kids, husbands or family life, and sometimes I wonder if wanting more than that just makes me childish.

Is it just me who is worried about where all of this is going?
Middle-aged white men in key positions, women being put back in boxes and expected to shrink themselves and look pretty, prejudice creeping back in, capitalism, and our reliance on people and devices to tell us how we feel. What happened to knowing ourselves best and being kind to one another? Why can’t I live in that world?

Is it just me, or does Christmas seem to start earlier and earlier every year?
By September I’m already seeing adverts for Christmas dinners and presents. By October the Christmas carols are starting in the shops, and by the week before Christmas I feel like if I hear one more, I’ll scream.By the time Christmas actually arrives, I have no desire to be “Christmassy” at all.Am I just being selfish? I dread this time of year, EVERY YEAR.
