I’m a woman in my 30s with a caring husband, but I don’t have a close-knit group of friends. I occasionally see a few people, but I don’t have that core circle you often see on TV. It can be pretty scary to put yourself out there and try to connect.

Is it just me who finds it exhausting to be childfree by choice but constantly invited to baby showers, christenings and children’s birthday parties?
I don’t want children or everything that comes with them, but apparently these events are now the only way I can spend time with my friends.

Is it just me who finds it easy to make friends but still hasn’t found someone they can truly trust as a best friend?
I’m a teenager and move around often. It sucks having to make new friends every couple of years, and I always feel like the odd one out.

Is it just me who finds it weirdly embarrassing to tell their girlfriends about problems in their relationship?
I want to vent, but I don’t want anyone thinking, “Girl, and you’re still there?” I don’t know if I’m missing friendships where I feel safe being honest, or if part of me feels like we’re comparing whose relationship is better. How are you supposed to have real friendships if you’re too embarrassed to talk about what’s actually bothering you?

I used to be surrounded by people. I was cheer captain in high school, social chair in college, and later worked at a young start-up where making friends felt easy.
Now I've moved, and building new female friendships feels so much harder.I'm a self-proclaimed extroverted introvert. I love my alone time and recharge by myself, but I still really crave fun, genuine social connection.

Is it just me, or does anyone else still crave the close friendships of their teenage years, even though everyone’s lives seem to revolve around work and family?
I have friends, but sometimes it feels like I'm never really anyone's priority. I miss friendships that aren't only about kids, husbands or family life, and sometimes I wonder if wanting more than that just makes me childish.
